St. PETERSBURG WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA 2000

Day One Friday: 2 races in very (50 degree swings) shifty winds. First postponement at 8:30 was for too much wind, so we held the General Meeting at the Sailing Center. The RC sent everyone out at 9:30 for another postponement at 10:30 for not enough wind. They finally started about 11:30 and got in two back-to-back races. Take a look at the results and you'll see that there wasn't a lot of consistency - except Greg.

Yesterday was Bill Fastiggi's birthday, so he wasn't able to send his usual race descriptions. He'll post those this evening, and we'll have more interesting news here later.

This morning (Saturday) they've already gone out to race in lighter winds, although the direction is better - so we all hope not as shifty. Otherwise it's a beautiful day in St. Petersburg.
