Eighty Lightnings just finished the qualifying races for the International Lightning Class North American Championships in Annapolis, Maryland.  Severn Sailing Association and Eastport Yacht Club are hosting the event on the Chesapeake Bay.  The qualifying series was won by Allan Terhune, who just won the Open European Championship in Athens, Greece and was runner-up at the World Championships.  Anticipating heat and humidity, the Class has been pleasantly surprised with cool weather and 10-20 kts. of breeze.
