Lightning Sailors Dan Gravatt, Donna Collins and Sara Manaan Capture 2007 Lightning Class Pacific Coast Championships in Classic Finale

Point Richmond (California USA) September 23, 2007.  After seven races sailed in Lightning Class sailboats on San Francisco Bay Dan Gravatt (Mission Bay YC - San Diego), Donna Collins (San Diego) and Sara Manaan (San Diego) triumphed in a classic finale to capture the 2007 Pacific Coast Championships.  During the two-day regatta, sponsored by West Marine, Belo Wine Company and hosted September 22-23 by Richmond Yacht Club, the tree person crew racing at this event were schooled in conditions that try the patience of the very best sailors: (the variances of the San Franciscos Bay).

Mike Molina (RYC - Concord, California), Greg Demetrulais (Fremont, California) and Jon Reed (Fairfax, California), sailed into second place with only three points behind the leaders, factoring in a discard race. A win for Gravatt/Collins/Manaan in race six cinched their victory on a slim three-point margin.

In third place were Terry Dewane (Novato, California), Mike Dewane (Stowe, Vermont) and  Mark Dolan (Novato, CA).
