Subject: Double-planked bottom?
To: woody@lightningclass.org

My wife recently purchased Lightning # 32, advertised as "a 1939
Skaneateles Woody in good condition for its age" and wants to restore it to
original condition.

It has a double-planked bottom with "some dry rot in the interior
planks of the double-planked bottom." I have not yet gotten into the cockpit to
see how extensive it is, but a view from outside the cockpit shows problems
with the centerboard trunk and no problems that I can see in the bottom itself.

At any rate, I'm eager to find out the best way to deal with dry rot in
these interior planks, as well as with the centerboard trunk. Any ideas?

A photo is attached.
