Active or Life ILCA members. For non-members or crew members, the rate is $30 for three months. The ad will appear on this classified section of the ILCA website and includes an ad in printed Flashes. All fees will be paid in advance with Visa/Mastercard. |
To Place an Ad Please send
an e-mail to the Class Office at
office@lightningclass.org
Include the following information:
first name, last name, state/province, phone number, e-mail
and your ad text. If you have a photo of your boat
attach it to the e-mail.
Avoiding Scams and Fraud
- deal with people you can meet in person
- never wire funds via Western Union, Money Gram or any other
wire service
-fake Cashier Checks & Money Orders are common and banks will
cash them and then hold you responsible when the fake is discovered
weeks later.
-never give out financial information
-avoid deals involving shipping or escrow services and know that
only a scammer will "guarantee" a transaction.
Recognizing Scams
Most scams involve one or more of the following:
- inquiry from someone far away, often in another country
-Western Union, Money Gram, cashier's check, money order, shipping,
escrow service, or a "guarantee"
-inability or refusal to meet face-to-face before consummating the
transaction.
