Frank Gallagher's remembrances:

Maryann and I got to visit with Dave and Kitty a couple of weeks ago.  Kitty looked great ... and the old stories flowed ...

For those of you lucky enough to know kitty over the years at RBSA...one word stands out......RECALL...!!!!

She loved bringing us back to start again....we got pretty good at it after awhile....I think kitty just loved to see us all lined up on the starting line....

For many years, Dave and kitty were the backbone of the Rehoboth Bay Sailing Association (RBSA)...Dave is still down there almost every day...

All clubs have their ups and downs....RBSA is currently fairly slow in the lightning area...but that didn't stop them from hosting 60+ boats for the ACC's 2 years ago...many of those people came because of RBSA's reputation for great sailing...and they got it...

Dave and Kitty were there when I first crewed at RBSA in 1965....within a few years I had my first boat and RBSA was the place to go for major regattas......many, many district championships, 2 north American championships and several Atlantic coast championships...Dave and Kitty were always there...organizing...setting up...Dave would usually race...Kitty was usually on the r/c boat , calling the line among other things...then they were both there to set up for the party at night....but the rear special side of Dave and Kitty was that they always opened their home for sailors at regatta time....not just a boat or two....there was usually 10 to 20 bodies on the floor  or filling the spare bedrooms...the beach has always been an  expensive place to find a room...Dave and Kitty made it easy...there was always something to eat in the morning....and Dave's truck always had....(and still does...!!!) the part or tool you needed to fix you boat....

Don't get me wrong, there were several good lightning families helping out at RBSA over the years......but there was none better the Dave and kitty Racine.

We'll miss you Kitty...and think of you most kindly...!!!!
