North American Championship

August 9: The Sodus Bay Yacht Club has done a spectacular job preparing for the North American Championship. The first day started off with a nice breeze for the first day of qualification. After the first race was completed a large thunderstorm moved through the area. The Fleet came in to the club in advance of the storm. Further racing today has been cancelled.

August 10: Another very large thunderstorm came through last night, drenching Sodus Point with 1 1/2" of rain and putting on quite a light show! Under sunny skies this morning the boats got out in a nice gentle breeze, one race has been completed thus far.
