Miami Midwinter Regatta

Tuesday March 11
Sea breeze... 5-15 knots 80 degrees... some rain in first race.. Three races total... Windward Leeward, twice around... finish to leeward

The first featured 2 general recalls followed by the now famous Miami Black Flag. The conditions ranged from sunny and warm to a very annoying rain... some wind during the squall but less after the rain... chunky conditions... with light winds... port tack featured waves on the nose... starboard was somewhat better.

The second was somewhat better for wind... 10 and a bit more, but those damn waves were a pain on port tack.

The third race was more typical. A solid 12-15 knots... no major shifts.

A great steak meal after the race ended an almost (rain?) perfect day.

Wednesday March 12
Breeze from the north... 5-18 knots... 80+ degrees... Two races... Windward Leeward, twice around... second race finished to windward.

The first race had 2 general recalls... the Z flag and the black flag to get the feet off the line... A righty shortly after the start made it hard to come back from the left.

The second race had some big puffs on the downwind leg... one down side up boat and a bunch of close calls. Mc Donald finished second taking the regatta by 18 points.

On to St. Pete
