Day one of the Southern Circuit got off to a slow start. With a stalled front just to the North, Biscayne Bay was still. There was not enough breeze for the 31 boat fleet to race. After a good effort on the water, the Fleet was towed back to shore. Nick Turney of Turney Sailing Services moderated a round table discussion with Monica Morgan, David Starck, Neal Fowler and Jeff Hayden sharing their knowledge with the fleet.
One of the highlights of the Southern Circuit is the week long Mentor Program. Nick Turney heads up this program which has given sailors another reason to head to FL in March. Through on the water coaching, one-on-one analysis and group discussions participants go home at the end of the week with more than a sunburn. The Mentor Program is back in action with a weather briefing at 8:30 am on Tuesday morning at the Coral Reef Yacht Club.
