5. About the HLBC:
Come join us sailing on the pristine waters of Higgins Lake in beautiful Northern Michigan! Our clubhouse is located on Treasure Island in the north end of Higgins Lake. It includes a kitchen, fireplace, restrooms, and an outdoor shower. Our location is truly a paradise because; being on an island, there is no retail activity or vehicular traffic of any kind. There is also no bridge the island, so the HLBC will provide a shuttle taxi service from Old Point Comfort to the clubhouse. Our water is clear, our beach is long and sandy, and our anchorage is generally protected in the lee of the island. The HLBC is a great sailing venue for kids of all ages! We will provide transportation to and from Old Point Comfort at the times listed in the following schedule, and following each day’s events.

The launch facility we use is a public road-end with only one ramp located at Old Point Comfort. And of course, we can’t prohibit other boaters from using it. Overhead power lines restrict the public road-end space for
setting up boats to about three at a time. Teams are encouraged to arrive Friday night. And we may use an additional road-end ramp at the end of Townline Road, just over a half mile to the west. Should we need to do that, an HLBC member will be on hand to guide you there. Trailers should be parked on the outlawn at Old Point Comfort Marine. Please do not block any cars that may already be parked there. Cars should be parked on public roads where allowed. Parking is not allowed inside the Treasure Island Association parking lot, and please do not block residents’ driveways or otherwise park illegally.

Boats will be moored at the club each night on a mooring line. So be sure to bring proper ground tackle, and anchor(s), etc. Limited camping will be available on the HLBC property, but not inside the clubhouse. Dogs are not allowed. Campsites are $10 per night. Please call ahead to reserve a spot.
