Update on Bill Mauk, Biscayne Bay Fleet 226, Florida, USA
I am saddened to pass along the news that one of our Lightning Family members is unwell. Bill Mauk has been in and out of the hospital for the past few months. He is dealing with an undiagnosed neurological disorder which has left him very weak. He is currently in the ICU at Mercy hospital recovering from lung surgery due to pneumonia. He has 3 chest tubes that were inserted after the surgery that they hope to remove soon and he is on a feeding tube due to his inability to swallow. In addition to treating his immediate problems, the doctors are running numerous tests to discover the underlying disorder so they can plan a path to recovery.
He appreciates all of the voicemails, text messages and emails but it is very difficult for him to respond. His family has set up a page on CaringBridge. They will update that site when they have new information. There you are welcome to add comments, share photos, stories and well wishes for Bill and the family. They will share those messages with him.
