Recently in the Lightning Class

June 28-29 - 20 boats sailed in the CAD & MET District Championship at Surf City Yacht Club. Clint Neuman, June Neuman, and Devon Rau finished first place with 11 points! Jody Lutz, Jonathan Lutz, and Timmy Crann finished in second with 17 points and James Elder, Sarah Martin, and Glenn Smyth finished third with 26 points.

June 28-29 - Thrilled to see Boat Grant Boat Team Murray at the CT/RI & NE District Championships at Niantic Bay Yacht Club. William J Healy, Caroline Healy, and Kristen Healy finished first with 14 points. Close behind was David Peak and team with 15 points. Parker Colantuono and team finished third with 16 points. Awesome event with 19 boats on the line! 

June 21-22 - GREAT turnout at the Keuka Lake Champagne and Classic Boat Regattawith 10 boats sailing the Open Fleet and 14 in the Classic Fleet. Additionally, Barry Long shared two videos of the event (thank you!) and the Finger Lakes Times published a fun article from the 57th annual event! Congratulations to Ed Serlyn and team for finishing first in the Open Fleet and Bob Astrove and team for winning the Classic Fleet! 

June 21-22 - The Bay City Regatta saw 7 boats on the line for 6 races over the weekend. Team Hilger finished first with 7 points. Team Harris followed behind in second with 10 points, and Team Klaban in third with 15 points. Read all about the event!

June 12-16 & 16-21 - Sailing in Greece provided a challenge for the Lightning fleet for the Master World and European Championships and Lightning World Championship at Voula Yacht Club. Teams were tested with a shifty offshore wind and enjoyed gorgeous, pristine Voula waters. Congratulations to Augie Diaz, Madeline Baldridge, and Reed Baldridge from the United States for winning the Master World Championship and Open European Championship. FELICIDADES Felipe Robles, Andres Guevara, and Paula Herman from Chile—the 2025 Lightning World Champions!!!!! An outstanding job.
