Volunteering Update July 2026

Our goal is to have 5
new
volunteers each year each making a substantial difference at the Class level, while still recognizing the dozens of people who give their time year after year and at the local level. Major new volunteers for 2025 include John Ring (GOT Flashes webapp), Pauli Kaiser (GOT Flashes letters), Bill Faude (new molds video), Raeyane Farrell (Flashes indexing). New volunteers so far in 2026 include John Rudd (Hall of Fame), Terry Hart (Pipeline program), Jack Huntsman (Pipeline program), Nicole Hering (Market Research).
We want to instill a culture of giving back to the Class. As part of National Volunteer Week in April, we created profiles of 6 volunteers and recognized them in a
dedicated FlashBlast
, in website blogs and on social media.
We have introduced a new
self-service volunteer recognition
capability, created by Bob Astrove. It’s an opportunity for members to recognize and thank other members, focused on the local and District level
.
This went live 2 months ago and more than 10 volunteers have been recognized.
There are lots of opportunities if you want to volunteer. We are currently looking for people to contact donors to thank them for their support of the Class. Contact Bertie Werley (
bertie.werley@gmail.com
412-439-4543) or Bob Shapiro (
finallybk@gmail.com
978-761-3289) if you want to help with that or anything else.
