Regatta Information

Burlington, VT is a great place to come in the summer.  There lots of great restaurants, bars, movie theaters, outdoor events and performances downtown.  It's a college town, with a great waterfront that overlooks Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains.  It is about a 10 minute drive from the club.

The Malletts Bay Boat Club is a family oriented club run by the members, the only staff at the club are the junior sailing instructors, and the launch drivers.  It is in beautiful spot tucked into the corner of the inner part of Malletts Bay next to Coates Island.  It is very well protected.

Our club has no bar or restaurant.  We will be serving some great catered meals on site and we'll have beer some of the time as well.

Vermont has the strictest Liquor Laws in the country.  We are going to have an opening ceremonies cocktail party with a cash bar and beer after sailing during the NAs event. During these events we need to have a roped off "bar" area, and no alcohol is allowed to be brought into or out of that area. However, please feel free to BYOB to the club during the Women and Masters events or anytime we are not serving catered alcohol at the club .

Vermont has very severe penalties for underage drinking and we will be monitoring and enforcing this.  If you or your crew are under 21, do not drink alcoholic beverages at the club.  Our club is very strict about this.  Our caterer assures us that the State Liquor Control Board will pay us a visit during the event.

The boats will be wet sailed for the regatta.  Our land facilities are somewhat limited so all of our trailers will be stored at a nearby marina.  We'll have plenty of lawn to play on, tents, and a nice clubhouse to keep us dry if it rains..

When you arrive at MBBC for measurement and registration, pull into the club entrance where you will be greeted and given instructions.  You will be turning to the right as you come in and you'll want to unhook the boat from the car right away.

Very important arrival information!!! - If you are arriving late Monday (8/6)  afternoon for the W,J,M or late Thursday (8/8) afternoon for the NAs, please don't drop your boat off at the club.  Take it with you to your hotel, and bring it in the morning when you come.  We will have a full staff of volunteers helping you uncover the boat, move it along through measurement, and moving your trailer to our off site storage area.  The measurement and registration process will be the fastest and most efficient you've ever seen at the NAs.  If you are coming to VT on Thursday 8/8, Please whatever you do, do not show up at the club between 4pm and 9pm on Thursday 8/8.  Our club has it's Thursday evening PHRF race and parking is so tight that you won't even be able to turnaround if you pull in.

Parking during the Regattas will be off site - just a short walk down the road.  We'll let you drop off crew and gear in the mornings, but you'll need to park in our designated "off-site" parking area.

Other important arrival information - If you are coming with a double deck trailer we can accommodate you!  But please call ahead or email and tell us when you will be arriving so we can make arrangements to unstack the boats.

There are lots of things for non sailors to do.  Bring family members with you.  We will have spectator boats for all events as well.

Plan on having fun in VT!
