Lightning action in Greece is heating up!

In Mid March the ILCA helped sponsor a Lightning Lab in a developing Fleet in Northern Greece at Nautical Club Alexandroupolis. Nick Vazakas from the Lightning Sailing Academy lead the lab. You can see a video recap below.

"On behalf of our team I want to thank you for the support in organizing this lab and I assure you that we will do our best to develop the class in North Greece and near vicinity countries such as Turkey and Bulgaria."  Angelos Simsirikis
The action continued in Greece at the Greek National Championship - April 12-14 where 15 boats sailed from host Voula. Tsoulfas Thodoris, Tsoulfas Giorgos and Michalopoulos Konstantinos won with 4 bullets!   Full Results
This was a great tune up for the 4 GRE Skippers who will be attending the Worlds in June. A container of 4 boats is being shipped to Finland from Greece.

It is terrific to see Lightning Sailing ALIVE in Greece!

Tight and Fishy....

The 2019 Long John Regatta at Monmouth Boat Club can be described with these two words, tight friendships, tight racing, tight scores. I’ll get to the fishy later.... Read Theresa Colantuono's Full Report  where the top 11 boats were only separated by 10 points! No one knew who won until the awards were handed out!  Spoiler Alert... Team Colantuono pictured left won!

If you could go to the perfect regatta, what would it look like?

Bill Cabrall takes you there with his report from the recent Moonshine Regatta...  the drive, the venue, the food, the sailing and most importantly the friendships.  Read Bill's full report
